JAMESTOWN — The Jamestown City Council unanimously approved on Monday, Oct. 5, its budget for 2027. The general fund includes more than $12.92 million in revenue and expenditures. The 2027 budget includes more than $3.6 million in transfers from utility fund revenues to the general fund, including $650,400 from stormwater, $1.2 million from water, $970,000 from sewer, $150,000 from sanitation and $645,000 from solid waste. An estimated total of 115.98 mills will be levied for the city of Jamestown, City Administrator Sarah Hellekson said after the meeting. The value of a city mill is estimated at $63,673, an increase of $2,207 from 2025 at $61,466. Hellekson said that value will change once the final budget is submitted to Stutsman County. The 2027 property tax includes more than $5.41 million for the general fund, which is about $109,000 less than the previous year at over $5.52 million.
