Moorhead woman transported to hospital after collision with deer

MOORHEAD - A 43-year-old Moorhead woman was transported to the hospital with non-life- threatening injuries Friday night after the car she was driving collided with a deer in rural Clay County. Karen Knutson was wearing her seat belt when the crash happened, just after 11 p.m., Friday, Nov. 7, according to a release from the Minnesota State Patrol. ADVERTISEMENT She was driving a 2018 Subaru Legacy south on Highway 75 near 70th Ave. N. in Oakport Township north of Moorhead, when the vehicle struck the deer, the release said. Deputies with the Clay County Sheriff's Office and Sanford Ambulance personnel responded to the scene. Alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the crash, according to the release.
